In exactly two months I'll start my first day at Stockholm University, a new student in a new school, new city, new country, new continent. I'll have to adjust to a new time zone, new language, new climate, new friends, new food, new life. And though I have more questions and endless curiosities about what's to come this January, my last semester in college, my first semester abroad, and even though I think and think and think and dream and read, I have yet to find a single solid answer for anything. So here's to figuring it out, one day at a time, January to June, as I get ready for what will surely be the most exciting and memorable five months of my entire life.

  1. Oh, Stockholm will be marvelous! You must pack yards and yards of wooly things, as it will be terribly cold, no doubt! I am currently doing an exchange--from California to England--and so far its been a wonderful experience. Do you speak any Swedish? I hope to visit Stockholm sometime in April, as I will be in Oslo then; may I ask what you're studying? And why Stockholm?

I'm sorry if all these questions are annoying--I'm just terribly interested! I hope you'll update your adventures in Sweden here, I'd love to read all about it!

  2. Hello! I'm going to Sweden to study the language and history of Sweden, from Vikings to Linnaeus to Bergman. I'm so very excited! I don't speak any Swedish, not yet at least! My grandmother is from Sweden, so I have always had that connection with it, and now I can go and really immerse myself like I've dreamed of. And of course, I'll post my photographs and thoughts and experiences here. Thanks for your interest! And if you want to talk more, my email is katrinalane@gmail.com, I'd love to talk with you more about England and Sweden and anything else!
